‘If Women Rose Rooted, Like Trees': a new book, and an invitation

(Image by Elena Ray) Some exciting news: a new book is in the offing which gets right to the heart of my work on myth, place and narrative ecopsychology. The book will be published by September Publishing, a new company focusing on nonfiction which has recently been set up by Hannah MacDonald. Hannah is the author of two critically acclaimed novels, The Sun Road and Julianna Kiss, and she has had a twenty-year career publishing multiple top-ten bestsellers in major companies like Virgin, Random House and HarperCollins (where she headed up the Collins imprint) before deciding to quit earlier this year and set up her own company. Current plans are to publish in spring 2016. The title of the book comes from a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke: ‘If we surrendered/ to earth’s intelligence/ we could rise up rooted, like trees.’ It’s a personal journey through the unique and atmospheric landscapes of the Celtic nations, and the mythology and mindscape of its women.
